That's an interesting question. I remember reading Jan Wong's Red China Blues, where she kind of answered this question when she and her husband and baby was in Beijing during June 4th. She asked her husband whether she should stay. Her husband said something to the effect that as a wife and mother, she should leave. But as a journalist, no one should be able to drag her out of Beijing during those times. would you choose to live in industrial revolution London?

I don't know it's true or not,maybe it's only a rumor,or some people use this kind of religious activities to get money,But I still feel sad about it...
