Watch: No toilet, no problem: Lady poops in Shenzhen metro lift, man keeps a look-out

A leaked video has found its way online after a lady in Shenzhen is caught on camera for pooping in a lift on the Shenzhen metro in a very unladylike manner.

The incident took place on April 22 in the middle of the afternoon, on a typical day, with travelers walking by in the background.

The man and woman duo work seamlessly as a team, as he keeps a lookout for any unsuspecting people who stumble across their act to ward off any embarrassment.

The woman makes a mess inside the lift, leaving it for a cleaner to deal with.

Some eagle-eyed netizens have taken to Weibo in the past to publicly name and shame those who have no regard for themselves or others around them.

A similar incident happened around two months ago on the Guangzhou metro when a high-school teen was happily using a trash can to empty his bowels without objection by the staff in the station.

Last November a boy was caught short on the train, and crouched down beside the door to relieve his bowel while his dad stood by.

However, in more recent times, we’ve had a mother letting her son poo in the middle of the airport terminal in Taiwan, and in February, a child was having a poo in the middle of an airplane aisle mid-air.

What do all of these incidents have in common? They are all related to transit. Perhaps this is symbolic of what China thinks of its subway, rail, and airplane services.

No toilet, no problem: high-school student defecates into a trash can on the GZ metro

Posted: 03/2/2013 1:45 pm

Just no shame: A high school student in Guangzhou has been caught using a trash bin as a toilet, and probably having a poo. The picture of the kid is the latest to go viral on Sina Weibo.

As you can see in this picture, he’s not bothered that he’s taking his business in a very public place, in this case the Guangzhou metro. What’s worse is that the station staff has allowed him to carry on, raising his hand to stop a netizen taking a picture – to shame him.

Acutely aware of the incident, Guangzhou metro has gone to the trouble of posting a picture on Weibo making sure users are aware of the nearest toilet in their stations.

While it is a disgusting and shocking practice, this incident is not the first of it’s kind on the Guangzhou metro.

We reported last November how a boy was caught short on the train, and crouched down beside the door to relieve his bowel while his dad stood by.

However, in more recent times, we’ve had a mother letting her son poo in the middle of the airport terminal in Taiwan, and just two weeks ago, a child was having a poo in the middle of an airplane aisle mid-air.

This reporter has seen mothers burst off the train, holding their babies over trash cans, to stop their kids wetting themselves in an all too common occurrence.

Feel sorry for the cleaners who have to clean up this mess.

Merchant processes dried bamboo shoots in toilet

Posted: 07/5/2012 11:44 am

Food safety scandals happen with almost metronomic regularity in China. Although the State media devotes an enormous amount of attention to the issue, the situation doesn’t appear to be getting much better.

An illegal food workshop in Dongguan has been processing dried bamboo shoots in toilet water, according to Southern Metropolis Daily.

Photographs show white plastic buckets in which dirty water is used to infuse dried bamboo shoots. Worms were seen crawling on a piece of dried bamboo shoot. Two of the buckets were seen placed beside a squat toilet.

“We use the toilet water to wash the worms out,” said the owner of the illegal food workshop. He also said they could sell more than 10kg of dried bamboo shoots to members of the public a day.

How much do you know about the safety of what you’re putting into your mouth?
