A 26 year-old woman has either suffered an outlandish misfortune or fallen victim to a seriously unfunny prank in Shenzhen’s Baoan District, according to Jiangxi Television. She was hit by a bundle of about 50 bed sheets that had been thrown out of a 2nd-story window. One wonders what had been done on those bed sheets.

The incident happened on Oct. 10 and the woman, Mrs. Jin, is expected to be at Shenzhen No. 8 People’s Hospital for 2-3 more weeks with four fractures including on her chest.

The cleaning company employee that threw the linen did ask her to move but did not say she had to move right away, she told reporters. The company came to the hospital to pay her 3,000 yuan medical fees.

The manager of the cleaning company, Mr. Xiao, said it was not standard practice to throw bundles of linen out of windows.

Jin has demanded 50,000 RMB in damages, but Xiao thinks this is disproportionate, he told reporters.

Considering the number of tall buildings and the amount of littering that happens here, it’s a wonder why this sort of thing doesn’t happen more often. As a reporter from the TV station pointed out, it could have been something much more dangerous than bed sheets.
